ColonyTrack is 22 years of engineering combined with a real passion for beekeeping and a clear idea of what a field tool should actually do.
I'm MayDay. 22 years across engineering, ecommerce, email, marketing, and gaming. I've shipped products at every scale, worked on every kind of team, and built systems that had to work the first time. Beekeeping is where all of that met a passion I couldn't stop thinking about.
ColonyTrack started as a personal challenge: can I build a complete end-to-end solution myself, combining everything I know? Not just the software but the hardware too. 3D modeling, printing, CNC machining, embedded tech. The NFC hive mounts in the shop are designed and built by me.
There are other beekeeping apps out there, some around for over a decade. I'm not building against them. I built this the way I think it should work, shaped by how I inspect my own hives and what I wish I had in the field. That's the whole reason.
If it resonates with you, let's grow it together. If something doesn't feel right, tell me and we'll keep tweaking until it does. The product evolves with the people using it. That's exactly how I want it.
Software, hardware, and field ops designed together as one thing, not bolted on as an afterthought.
Every decision is made with gloves on, in the sun, with bees flying around. Not at a desk.
In a world that gatekeeps every record, we give you the option to leave and take your work with you. Export everything, any time, no paywall. Your inspection history belongs to you.
The product evolves based on what real beekeepers experience. Every release is informed by the people using it.
Have a feature idea, found a bug, or just want to talk beekeeping? I read every email.
